We are announcing the first digital award show, focused on digital culture including gaming, arts and technology. Make history and attend an award festival where you can play, vote and discuss some of the most compelling experiences using emergent technology with other like minded people.
Digital Culture Award Show
On the run up to the Spring Exhibition, a series of online award podcasts – The Digital Culture Spring Awards will be revealed. The intention is to share our passion for technology and celebrate our digital era. As such, the Digital Culture Team have selected 3 award categories around the theme of love for members of the public to get involved in.
This year’s Spring Award categories are:
- Best Commercial 4D experience
- Best StoryTelling experience using emergent technology
- Best Console Co-op content for couples
More details on why these have been selected will be revealed on the run up to the ceremony itself. The award show will showcase some of the latest software and hardware from around the world, including Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality and more.
Digital Culture’s Spring Exhibition
To collect the data on the awards themselves, members of the public will be invited to attend the upcoming Spring Exhibition, where they will be able to drink, eat and discuss exciting technology with other like minded tech enthusiasts. The spirit of the festival is about bringing people together using technology for unique social experiences. It promises to be entertaining with lots of additional games and prizes for attendees. The Digital Culture Team will also play cupid, matching couples at the event and have them examine a series of cooperative games together. The Festival will take place in London’s nightclub and exhibition space Fabric on April the 19th and 20th 2019.
The after party brings the 2 days of debate to a close, with more prizes and escape room games for a lucky few. A mix of awesome music will be available with some of our favourite gaming melodies added in for good measure – if you love games and partying you will not want to miss out.
There will be surprise guests from the games and art industry speaking during the day, and then partying the night away with some guest DJ’s and live PA’s. Whether you’re looking for love or want to help us award something special with your friends, this Spring promises to be an exciting night out in tech!
The Digital Culture Awards Team are setting out to make a difference with the judging process. Working with members of the public and specialist panel judges to determine the best in category for each award, it aims to provide a balanced and fair opinion from people that love technology and subject matter experts.
Digital Culture Awards are presented by GamePulp – setup to find and highlight how our digital culture is evolving in the modern world. Founded by Shaun Leach – “The Digital Culture Awards will be an opportunity to recognise how fast we are moving into this digital era, whilst having fun with the things and people we love”. Shaun has been working in the gaming industry as a Game Director for over 12 years, at a number of major game studios.
